Guest Professor - Christian Counseling

Jeffrey Sargent, PhD

Dr. Jeffrey Sargent will be teaching the course Christian Counseling on November 24-28, 2025.


Dr. Jeffrey Sargent is a Professor of Psychology at Lee University. He holds a B.A. from Lee College, an M.A. in Counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, an M.S. in Human and Environmental Sciences, and a Ph.D. from the University of Alabama. Prior to joining the Lee University faculty in 2005, Dr. Sargent gained valuable experience as a mental health therapist and school counselor in Alabama. Over the years, he has served in various leadership roles, including Director of First-Year Programs and Chair of the Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences. Currently, Dr. Sargent is the Director of Global Perspectives and International Programs at Lee University.

 

In addition to his academic work, Dr. Sargent is a consultant with the Church of God’s Center for Ministerial Care and provides leadership consulting within the U.S. manufacturing industry.

 

Dr. Sargent has been happily married to his wife, Beth, since 1990. Beth is an elementary school teacher who earned her master’s degree in education from Lee University. The couple has three adult children and two grandchildren.
